We had a wonderful time staying at this place. The hotel staff was amazing and made us feel right at home. The location of the hotel was perfect, right in the middle of the Hutongs on a great little street which was buzzing with activity. The atmosphere here was so relaxed and we enjoyed sitting in the central area, drinking tea and experiencing the traditional Chinese music. The room was in great condition and had all the amenities we needed, including air conditioning, an electric kettle, and a flat-screen TV. The service provided by the staff was top-notch and they were always available to assist us. We also appreciated the free Wi-Fi, which was fast and reliable. this venue provided an authentic Chinese adventure with the comfort and quality services of a top hotel.
We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pure Chinese adventure in a traditional hutong setting.

The staff were exceptionally friendly, and helpful. If you needed advice on the local area or something written down in Chinesse they were most helpful. This break was exceptionally good value for money we paid just 1176 Yuan for our weeks stay in September 2012, the hotel was exceptionally clean and the Wifi was exceptionally good. The location for most tourist areas were within easy reach using the local bus services, instead of local tour operators (180 yuan per person to the Great Wall of China plus toll charges and entrance fee was easily archived by the 765 bus for 1 yuan and transferring to the 919 bus for just 12 yuan that way you got there for 13 yuan plus entrance fee per person. The same for the Forbidden City a five minute walk to the end of the road and the number 11 bus took you to within five minutes of the Forbidden City for just 1 yuan per person each way against the tour operators costs of 150 yuan per person. If you need to get to the hotel from the AIrport then take the local train costs 25 Yuan per person plus the 765 bus for 1 Yuan, against 350 Yuan by local taxi (plus toll fees) as the passenger is expected to pay the toll fees. DO NOT exchange your currency at the AIrport as you get a good 15% less for your money than either a cash point machine or local bank plus they charge you 3% commision, we found out the hard way as we changed £200 at the AIrport and then used the local cashpoints. Would also recommend that you pay the hotel in cash when you get there as they do put high charges for using cards.
Despite the overall cleanest of this hotel and the location/friendlyness and wifi the breakfast consisted of a very basic Chinese option and their interpretation of a western type breakfast ( 1 fried egg and rasher of bacon, with 2 slices of dry toast apparently they have no butter but provided jam. The hotel have altered their prices from early September 2012 as the prices starting from the week after we left have risen from 1176 yuan(£120) to in excess of 5000 (£500) without breakfast and another £100 if you wanted breakfast whilst it is a great little hotel with lots of charm the new price is certainly excessive and defiantly not worth that price unless they can sort out the breakfast and the little luxuries that this price would command ( toiletries, daily room cleaning without asking, toilet rolls again without asking, and a fridge) despite this we had a great time and even more since we only paid £120 for a week B/B.

We had a fantastic stay in this hotel nestled in a neighborhood of Hutongs, giving us an immersive experience of the local daily life. The location was central, close to main attractions, and within walking distance to the nearest subway station. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Additionally, the cleanliness of the hotel and the facilities provided were top-notch.
Nothing that we didn't like.

Great location in a bustling neighborhood with lots of shops, restaurants, and street vendors. Close to public transportation. Staff was friendly and helpful.
The rooms were tiny and the shower took forever to heat up. The breakfast was small and served in a chilly courtyard.
